Telemedicine visits are available now.

We’re offering telemedicine (video) visits to make it safer and easier for you to get the medical care you need during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Many acute problems and follow-up for more chronic or medication management issues can be done virtually, same as an office visit.

How does telemedicine work?

Call the front desk and make an appointment for telemedicine for the doctor you want. We are using the app called Doxy.me. Doxy.me doesn’t require you to download an app, or register and remember passwords. You only need to allow your web browser to access your camera and microphone. It works best with Chrome, Safari or Firefox browsers. It can be used on any device with microphone and camera – computer, laptop, tablet or smart phone.

We will send you a link to the email address we have on file unless you instruct the front desk to use a different email. Open the email and follow the link to https://doxy.me/(your doctors name). You type in your name, click a button and are placed in a virtual waiting room.

If we don’t see you in the waiting room when it is your time, we will call you to see if you just forgot or are having technical troubles.

If you don’t have access to a computer with a camera and microphone, we can visit by phone.

Does insurance cover telemedicine?

Most insurers including Medicare and Apple Care are covering it but you would have to check with your insurer for details. Telemedicine visits will be billed to your insurance if your doctor takes your insurance.

If you are self pay, payment will be collected when you make the appointment. The charge will be $120 for most calls, more if more extensive or longer and less if an arrangement was made with your doctor.

In order to keep everyone safe in the office:

  1. We are asking if anyone has symptoms of a respiratory infection such as sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, loss of smell or chest pain, fever OR gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting or diarrhea to not come to the office but to make a telemedicine visit with their practitioner first.   We may have limited testing available for Covid but that needs to be set up with your doctor with a formal visit first in order to plan a drive through test or find a testing site for you.

  2. Patients that are older than 65 or have other underlying conditions that put you at more serious risk from Covid, we suggest you follow the isolation guidelines to stay home. Telemedicine visits are a good choice many primary care problems and questions that can be addressed and treated in an audio-video (telemedicine) visit.

  3. We are taking extra precautions in screening patients, disinfecting surfaces in the waiting room, bathroom and exam rooms, and doorknobs throughout the day, and between patients

  4. Masks: Practitioners may wear a mask for extra precaution. Any staff or practitioner with a fever, sore throat or any respiratory symptoms not obviously due to allergy season will stay home from work.  Patients are encouraged to wear masks when they go out and can ask for one at front desk if desired.
